Event Info
The Beta Business Days is a unique two-day career event for all students from the Faculty of Science & Engineering of the University of Groningen. The aim is to host the upcoming event physically on the 12th and 13th of March 2025.
The Beta Business Days gives more than 7000 Bachelor, Master, and PhD students the opportunity to investigate their career prospects and make contacts that could lead to a thesis project, an internship, or even a job.
Various activities will familiarize students with the needs of the participating companies. Companies can give a presentation or host a stand at the business exposition to generate brand awareness among the attending students.
The programme includes case studies, speed dates, high teas and individual meetings for which participants will be selected based on their CV. Furthermore, there will be informal networking opportunities for students and the participating companies. These activities will give companies and students the chance to get to know each other.

Beta Business Days
During the Beta Business Days, you will be able to participate in different types of activities. During these activities, you will have the opportunity to orientate yourself on your future career possibilities or get in-depth knowledge about a specific company of your interest.
Business Presentations
These 45-minute long presentations are a good way to get an impression of the company and its career opportunities.
Case studies
During a case, you will get to know the company and encounter possible obstacles a company is facing. You will work in a team to solve a case problem.
Business speed dates
During speed dates, you rotate every 10 minutes to a new company. This way you get a fast view of what different companies have to offer.
Business Expo
The Business Expo is a company fair that creates the opportunity to network with many companies. The companies will be present with a stand, creating an informal atmosphere to interact with the students. The Business Expo takes place from 15:00 to 18:00.
Company one-on-one
The Company one-on-one allows for personal contact between a company and a student. Because of this personal aspect, this activity is a great way to get a clear view of the company and vice versa, possibly leading to recruitment for internships or jobs!
High Tea / High Wine / High Beer
Whilst enjoying a high tea, wine or beer, you get the perfect opportunity to informally get in close personal contact with a company of your interest.
Besides these activities, the Beta Business Days offers a general lunch, alongside a lunch fair, where you can meet some non-business organisations which might be interesting for you as a student. During the business expo you can get in contact with many all participating companies.

Selection
All activities are subject to a maximum capacity, meaning that you may not be selected for all events you enrolled for. The maximum capacity goes for all activity types.
